More Paradise

After two nights in Monterotondo we made our way into the Langhe hills and down to Cortemilia and Villa San Carlo. Poppies are still in bloom here due to the late arriving summer weather. Today's ride took us up the "wall" of Mombarcaro to our tour's "Cima Coppi" (highest elevation) but the climb was made easier by the cool temps and the sumptuous meal we enjoyed the night before. Tim and Camilla enjoying the "downhill" part of today's ride in one photo.
Dining at Villa San Carlo defines the "mangia bene" part of our slogan so we included a shot of last night's menu, while the rides around this area make sure we get plenty of the "pedala forte".
Tomorrow we're off to the the hills of Barbaresco and Roero before the final climb to Castello Santa Vittoria d'Alba but not before one last dinner with Carlo and Paola -- tonight they're making the same dish served to Sofia Loren a few years ago -- but for us!
