Giro d'Italia and that big race in France

The 2011 Giro d'Italia route was presented yesterday. We eagerly await each new edition, hoping La Corsa Rosa might intersect with our routes in Campania, Umbria or Le Marche in May. No luck again this year but we WILL ride over some of the pink roads as always. We ALWAYS ride over them during our Legendary Climbs tours and 2011 will let us see the graffiti left behind by the tifosi on Passo Giau and the Fedaia on Stage 15. We'll follow some of the route of Stage 8 (Sapri - Tropea) during our Cilento Coast tour and some of Stage 4 (Quarto dei Mille - Livorno) during Vineyards to the Sea. Stage 18's (Morbegno - San Pellegrino) route will share ours along Lake Lecco while the penultimate stage will climb Colle delle Finestre and up to Sestriere, a feature or our Legendary Climbs WEST itinerary.
As to that big race in France, we've decided the stages in Italy will not be dramatic enough to make a special CycleItalia itinerary, though we may well stick around after Legendary Climbs EAST and make a personal visit to see them -- without leaving ITALIA of course!
