Heather made this neat shot of part of our group as they entered a shady section of today's route. The rest of us took another option with lots more climbing and far less shade (and without a camera) instead. But both groups enjoyed
mangia bene to go with their
pedala forte, the photo group feasted on seafood risotto at a place near our hotel while the others dined on tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms or with braised beef sauce or with a classic caccio e pepe. The risotto group had only the final climb to the hotel after lunch while the others were happy for those low "after lunch" gears with climbs to three hilltowns still to go
dopo pranzo. Tonight we'll fuel up for the final day's ride with
cena at
Melograno, just steps away from our hotel.
