Postcard Piedmont
Photos never do justice to reality - which is why one must VISIT places like this instead of just admiring the pictures. Today was (finally) another one of those days where postcard photographers take their money-making photos. Look closely and see the snow-capped Alps in the distance. We're about 75 miles from the actual mountains here but on clear days like this it looks like one can reach out and touch them! After a panino along our cycling route we returned to settle in and watch the "tappone" of the Giro d'Italia on TV. They had a spectacular weather day in the Dolomites too, but as the first warm day, more than a few riders were the victims of cramps. Tomorrow we'll do more work on future tours - easy since they'll both be based from here at Hotel Ariotto.
