In the heart of the Dolomites

Mike climbs the Falzarego yesterday afternoon on our way from Cortina to Corvara. It's the week before the Maratona (Gran Fondo) so more cyclists are on the roads with us. Today we challenge the Campolongo, Fedaia, Sella and Gardena passes, not to mention the "sting in the tail" climb of "Colle" Sporthotel Panorama! Michele tells of the pro teams who stayed here during the Giro d'Italia a few years back who complained bitterly about having to ride the .8 kms almost straight up to get here after a 200+ km stage through these mountains. We know how they felt but the incredible view, wonderful food and wine and warm hospitality make it worth the effort!

  1. Wow, sounds like a very tough ride. Hope you can ice your tail after!
