Saturday's weather was wet and chilly with more of the same predicted for Sunday. When the going gets tough--we go to Rome! We took an early train from Viterbo and in less than two hours were taking the photo in St. Peter's square. Admission to the see the Pope's collection of artworks was free this day so we stood in line along with thousands of others to admire his amazing collection. Afterwards we wandered around, coming across this other gorgeous art object parked near a fancy eatery. By early afternoon we'd had our fill of tourists and took the train back to Viterbo, arriving around 7 pm to enjoy a hot bath and one of Heather's wonderful pasta dishes. Larry's still trying to wrap his mind around the concept of just going to Rome for the day!
