You can see from these photos we had a (rare) almost-perfect weather day for our ascent of the 48 numbered switchbacks on this legendary climb.Our small group enjoys the "sizzle of salisciccia on the Stelvio" after their arrival in bright sunshine while the other photo shows how beautiful the conditions were for our cyclists.
We hope they saved something as tomorrow's our "tappone" (big stage) of Passo Mortirolo and Passo Gavia -- this might be the toughest 73 mile (118 km) loop there is...over ten-thousand feet (3150 meters) of elevation gain!
