Our little group poses atop the first climb of the tour, Passo Erbe. From left you can see Jackie, Rich Heather, Jack, Dave and John posing with the sign indicating the summit. From here it was just a quick descent to our hotel and a "cena ladina" complete with panicia (barley soup) buckwheat ravioli filled with wild game in a butter and juniper sauce, then a pork roast done alla "fiena" (hay) with an apple cake for dessert. Fueled up for tomorrow we tumbled into bed dreaming of Passo Furcia and the fearsome Tre Cime di Lavaredo, part of tomorrow's route to Cortina.
