The famous Milano-San Remo bike race always heralds the arrival of spring and this year was no exception as you can see here in this photo taken about 25 kms inland from Siracusa. Yes, that is Mt. Etna looming in the backround in the right of the photo. This was Larry's first day of the year on the bike with shorts and short sleeves for the whole 70 kms of this very interesting and low-traffic (except for the actual into and out of Ortigia of course) loop before returning home to enjoy a plate of pasta with fresh swordfish.
