Here you see our new friend at Vini Aquilae, a wine shop just on the other side of the bridge from Ortigia filling a bottle for us with their very good Nero d'Avola. Last year we had zero success finding any bulk wine worth drinking, settling for a local (but more expensive) boxed wine instead, but this costs less than the infamous "Two Buck Chuck" in the USA and it's actually GOOD! The wines are products of the Viticultori Associati, a cooperative based near Agrigento, so they're not of the "drinking wine while looking out the window at the vineyard it came from" category but for a good, everyday vino, we're not complaining!
