May 26 – Overnight flight to Milan’s Malpensa airport
May 27 – Arrive in Milan and catch our shuttle to Ariotto,
our HQ hotel. Assemble and fine tune your bicycle or be fitted with one of ours
before settling in to watch TV coverage of Stage 16, over the fearsome Gavia,
awesome Stelvio and finishing on the Val Martello climb. Our welcome dinner
will follow a toast to the Giro d’Italia.
May 28 – After a buffet breakfast where Carla might even
scramble some eggs for you, we’ll make a van transfer to catch up with the
race, possibly stopping in Vicenza for a private tour of the famous Campagnolo
factory. We’ll try to see the sprint finish in Vittorio Veneto before settling
in to our lodging in Levico Terme for two nights. Enjoy the regional cooking
and wines at our group dinner.
May 29 – The race comes to us today, or you can tackle the
climb to Rifugio Panarotta yourself and see what the riders are in for. Watch
from whatever venue you prefer and take everything in, your lodging is waiting.
Open night for dinner in the lively spa town.
May 30 - We’re off to Bassano del Grappa this morning to
see the chrono stage up infamous Monte Grappa. Test yourself on the course or
simply soak up the passion of the Corsa Rosa. Will the Maglia Rosa rest on new
shoulders this evening? Van transfer to our lodging on the course for Stage 20, followed by group dinner.
May 31 – This is IT! The infamous and terrifying Monte
Zoncolan will likely crown the winner. Watch from the roadside near our hotel
or tackle the fearsome climb yourself. Toast the likely winner at our group
dinner, we’ll buy the bubbly!
June 1 – Il Giro heads to Trieste for the finale, we head
back to Ariotto to repack bikes and indulge in our own celebration before we enjoy a farewell dinner of Piemontese
specialties.
June 2 – Airport transfers for departing flights or stay on
and join us for Vineyards to the Sea.
