Ciao from Piemonte! As you can see here we finally we able to offer a special remembrance to our friend Piero Coppi for the reliquary at Castellania. Fausto Coppi passed away 50 years ago and was remembered by the Giro d'Italia which passed by the town on their way to Novi Ligure. They looped around Gavi before the final sprint, catching the sprinter's teams a bit off-guard as the hills around here proved a bit tough for them to catch the escapers. We toured the cellar here at Villa Sparina before enjoying a few varieties of their often excellent wines as you can see Tim and Camilla doing here in the garden bar. Tomorrow we're off to Cortemilia via the Dolcetto hills.
