After packing the car with our olive oil it was time to head "home" to Hotel Ariotto, but first we made a stop to visit our friends at Hotel Quattro Gigli in Tuscany, the HQ for our self-guided Taste of Tuscany vacation. After enjoying a nice dinner and stay with Luigi and Fulvia we made our way north over the snowy Turchino Pass separating Piemonte from Liguria. It was still light when we arrived at Ariotto covered in snow as well. After packing up our oil and other treasures and a final meal with Marina in the ristorante, we slept quickly as we had to catch a flight out of Malpensa at 7 am! But being tired has its benefits as we both slept soundly on the flight back to the US where we breezed through customs and were soon on the short flight back to Sioux City.
