La Corsa Rosa finished in Rome today and of course we had to be there since we just completed our Umbria & Le Marche tour and were back in Rome on Saturday. We found our friend Mauro Mondonico at the start and visited for awhile, then hit the souvenir stands where Heather poses with "Girbecco" the official stuffed mascot. A bit of rain and wind cooled things off and even caused race-leader Denis Menchov to crash on the slick cobblestone roads but in the end he prevailed over Danilo DiLuca. Tomorrow we're off for some R & D on a new "secret" itinerary to debut next year if things go well. We may post some photos but we'll make any erstwhile competitors do more work than browse our website for ideas for their next tour so we'll be tight with details until later in the year. CIAO!

A Day at the Giro
